Saint Petersburg, Russia

Saint Petersburg, known as "Leningrad" is city and a federal subject of Russia, located on the Neva River at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic sea.

After Moscow, St. Petersburg is the largest city by population. and the second for the industry, economic and cultural vise. St. Petersburg was the capitol of Russia and it was founded by Tsar Peter the Great (Petar Veliki) on 27. May 1703.  People were thinking that the city got name from Peter the Great, but it actually got name from its guard Simon Petar. Fortress was named Sankt-Pieterburch until the World War I when it got renamed from Sankt-Pieterburch to Petrograd.
 Image Detail One of the greater creatures of this city is White Nights or Bele Noci, which means that during the midsummer days the nights are actually a day. It never turns dark. People were saying that during those days, they could dry their hair on the sun at 3a.m in the morning.

The climate in St. Petersburg is changeable. It is very humid and it is raining most of the time. Winters could be really cold, but people would still go and visit those incredible sights.
